Our Work

A powerful marketing tool to replace QR codes

QR codes have slowly started to infiltrate the local scene, but it'd be a stretch at this stage to say they've rocked the marketing world. Enter Boxtcode, patent-pending smartphone technology that aims to resolve the limitations of QR codes, with location-based technology that connects consumers with brands via a four-digit code rather than a barcode that requires scanning.

Instead of chasing a bus down the street holding up your phone to a QR code, you can simply enter the four digits you see by typing them in. If you forget the four digits, Boxtcode will help you find it. And our interface will also scan QR codes.

Using the Boxtcode iPhone or Android app interface, consumers enter a brand's promotional code, which can then deliver a coupon or offer straight to their phone or launch a specific mobile site. Boxtcode also provides ROI metrics for tracking campaign success across media platforms, be it print, TV, radio or billboards.

Working closely with the client, our chief mobile strategist, Anthony Gherghetta, planned, designed and developed this fantastic marketing tool.

Department of Education And Early Childhood Development - Victoria

The application has been developed as an educational tool to accompany the 'Innovating With Technologies' showcase.

The showcase is run annually by the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (VDEECD) and offers pratical examples of a broad range of technologies that are being used in innovative ways in the classroom.

The app features descriptions, relevant quotes and images of technologies that are being used in Victorian schools to enrich student experiences and improve learning outcomes.

Map your Ride

How do you create an application for an insurance company that is more than just a number to call after you have a bingle?

This was the challenge confronting Swann Insurance.  They wanted to have a presence on mobile devices but they wanted to do something a bit more exciting and different than all of the other insurance companies.  The App Studio worked closely with Swann Insurance to develop Ride Mate - a mobile social application for motorbike riders to find rides and share them with their friends.

Swann Insurance is tapping into the power of social networks by developing a functional app that will be used by their target audience.

iPad Sales Presentation

Over the past few months The App Studio has been working with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals on a series of innovative iPad presentations for the sales teams in Australia and New Zealand.

Incorporating fresh design and navigation features, the iPad applications help the sales representatives engage with health care professionals in the short window of time available between patients.
